Seminar Presentations
James J. Harrington III has presented on substantive Family Law topics, between 4 to 6 times annually, on 50 to 60 occasions over the last 10 or 15 years. This includes acting as a Moderator, or a panelist on multiple occasions. His presentations include twice at National Seminars in Las Vegas, NV involving the combined American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and the Business Valuation Resources. He has presented annually at the Upper Michigan Legal Institute on Mackinac Island regarding the Family Law Update since 2010. Mr. Harrington has presented at the advance level Family Law Institute almost every November for the last 15 years. He has spoken at the Annual Seminar of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers every year since his admission to the Academy.
Mr. Harrington has spoken at State Bar/Family Law Seminars on Appeals and Discovery in Divorce cases and actively participates in Family Law Section events. The State Bar/Family Law Section published his article on effective use of Experts in Domestic Relations cases and he has guest lectured at the University of Detroit-Mercy Law School.
Mr. Harrington has participated in multiple lectures and presentations as a faculty member of the Institute of Continuing Legal Education including the Family Law Institute, Drafting of Asset Asset Restraining Orders & Ex Parte Orders, and handling Property Division & Spousal Support issues.
